A few weeks ago my dad went for a business trip in Egypt and he brought back a whole load of Japanese sweets, a gift from a Japanese guy who was there. My dad gave them to me when he got back and I finally got around to eating them the other day!! The outside is red bean paste and the brown ones had glutinous rice in the middle and the white ones have a yellow paste in the middle. I love red bean paste (especially in mooncakes!) but these ones really weren’t that appealing! Have some photos.

I am not sure my neophobia would allow me to eat anything I wasn’t exactly sure of what was - Yet I like exotic stuff - and that candy sure is eye pleasing! I love the focus in the first picture. You have a really nice dad!
That really kind gesture of your dad’s Japanese friend reminds me of how Japenese present themselves as a courteous group of people ^^ anyway, the sweets look really exotic and tasty, and the red bean paste looks kind of delicious! I wish I could sink my teeth in it :yum: yummy! Not the forget the wonderful packaging… it’s just so appealing and eye-catching :D
