As I mentioned previously I came home from uni on Sunday. I actually really impressed myself on my journey. Firstly let it be known that I hate driving. Driving in the snow on the way home was not as terrifying as I expected it to be. It was scary but I didn’t seem to mind it, unusually!

I also had ‘issues’ with my sat nav. It wouldn’t calculate a route, anywhere, it was constantly coming up with errors and crashing. I suppose that’s to be expected when its running on windows mobile. I know the route home anyway but I was slightly worried as I’m planning a trip to South Hampton soon. I’ve had problems with it before too. If the cable isn’t in exactly the right position, and I mean by the millimeter it wont recognise the PDA and doesn’t work.

I got home and unpacked all my stuff. In the process I pulled another muscle in my chest. (For those that don’t remember/know the story) This time its on the breastbone, still on the right side just above my bewb. Its so annoying, why me! If it gets any worse I’m going to have to start taking those painkillers again.

Anyway, I digress, I told my parents about my crappy sat nav, which has served me pretty well tbh. Twenty minutes later my dad and I are in the car heading for Halfords! My dad does go a little overboard, I was thinking ooh lets get the cute little one, but because my dad will be using this when we go to Florida in July he got the biggest, fattest, most expensive one there! TomTom Go 520.

It does everything. You can plug your ipod into it, it has 5 hour battery life (the rest had 2) but the best features of all, not only does it tell you when there’s speed cameras coming up. It calculates your speed using its satellite positioning and tells you when your going too fast. It also tells you the speed limit on the road your on. My mum and I found this particularly useful when we went to ikea yesterday.

Hey Han sorry to hear that you’ve pulled your chest muscle. It must feel very bad  especially when it’s not the first time. The worst one I’ve been through is pulling my quadriceps during a nasty fall at a half-marathon XP and I couldn’t walk properly for the next week. Wishing you a speedy recovery! Take care.

Oh and the satellite navigation sounds interesting! In Asia high end cars do have such fancy features, but for the car my family uses we have none. The place we live is actually quite small and since we’ve been living here for slightly less than 2 decades we don’t really need sat nav installed, haha! Sorry to hear that your’s is a little cranky… perhaps there’s some warranty stuff?

The speed calculating function sounds fun, but I was thinking wouldn’t it be better if it could just directly read off the readings from your speed meter :P haha.

That’s amazing! I want one so bad *steals*
Meh. My dad had one and it was stolen from his car, then got another one and he put it in his lunch bag (so he didn’t leave it in the car again) and when he opened the lunch bag the poor tomtom was drowning in coffee. He got another one and I’m waiting to see how he messes it up now.

Lucky you XD I get really lost when driving, one of the main reasons that I hate it so yeah… I want one :D

Holy crap! A TomTom…it looks really nice. That is double the awesomeness about the speed feature. O.o I’ve always wanted one of those things…time to save up. :P
