Orkut

Do any of you remember be telling you that I have a problem, its gotten worse! I’ve just signed up to Orkut, google’s social network! I’m actually pretty impressed although there’s certainly room for improvement.

Theres profiles and communities, but you can make custom groups for your friends, which is so useful! It’d be better if I had some friends to group though!

You can also import feeds, add people to your ‘crush/hot list’ which is a dating feature I suppose. Theres a scrapbook on which people can post and the site integrates with picassa and youtube/google video nicely too.

Its only real down falls are not being able to edit your profile, even a custom background would be cool and all the communities are full of spammers. A simple ‘report as spam’ option would be great for this, say 1 spam report flags it to the rest of the community and the more spam flags it gets the quicker it’ll go!

OMG! It looks so good! I wanna join there! But I don’t have friends using Orkut so basically, I would be a loner. I’ve heard of it before but I never knew google owned it!

Maybe when features get better and my friends would have one, I’ll join!

I joined orkut around 2 years ago, got bored after 2 minutes and haven’t logged in since. :p

Knowing Google, they’ll work out the drawbacks soon enough. It looks good, but I’m done with social network sites for a little bit, since I noticed some people from way back when that I really didn’t want to know anymore were finding me on there and leaving some horrible messages. Maybe in a little while I’ll try this one.

In other news, I think your site is freaking gorgeous and I’d like to do a link exchange with you, if you’re open to such things :P

I’m not one for social networking websites, but this one seems nice! After joining Myspace and realizing how horrible it was, I’ve decided not to join anymore network websites, but this one is just so… alluring. I should convince some of my friends to sign up so I won’t be lonely. The fact that you can’t edit your profile is kind of irritating though.

I haven’t had problems with you website, well not yet.

That website looks interesting, I had no idea about google creating their own. I’ll have to give it a try, if I make an account I’ll let you know :D
