Merry Christmas everyone! even if it is a little belated! How was your day? Mine was pretty good, though first I’m going to talk about christmas eve. I spent most of christmas eve in the kitchen annoying my mum, something I’m pretty damn good at! I ate all the deformed orderves that came out of the oven leaving us with 25 instead of 30! Then I set about decorating the christmas cake! I’d made the presents and the christmas tree the day before so today was the snowmans turn to be made. A few miles of icing later…..

So now I’m onto christmas day! I got up at 9 and had scrambled eggs on toast minus the smoked salmon. My mum told my dad to soak strips of salmon in 2 or 3 tablespoons of milk, she came downstairs and he’d put the whole fucking salmon in a bowl of milk!

We started opening presents at 10ish, my dad got bored of waiting for my mum and I to get dressed so he started without us! It took us quite a while to open the presents, for 3 of us there certainly were a lot of presents under the tree! I suppose you all want to know what I received (I have an aversion to saying the word ‘gee oh tee’ to me saying that word is worse than swearing, damn you primary school)

My dad had just come back from China so lots of duty free was involved! DKNY be delicious perfume, which came just in time as I was running out of channel chance which he bought me last year! Some Channel makeup, quite unexpected, my mum was quite worried when he told her he’d bought me makeup, considering the face that a few years ago be bought me a pair of bright green hot pant sized shorts…..needless to say, they were NEVER worn. My dads fashion tastes leave a lot to be desired. From China my dad also got me the second series of Stargate Atlantis! YAY I can now watch it because sky decided to stop it halfway though the series. Most of my presents this year were consumables (and books), like shortbread, but thats good because then I dont get pointless shit cluttering up my room! I’m a practical person!

Rhysy bought me a paid livejournal subscription and a book called ‘when cats assassinate’ hehe he also bought me a pikmin!!! my god he knows me too well! So incidently do my uni friends, They bought me May on Motors which is james mays book (my mum got me the new jeremy clarkson book too - so did my aunt for my dad so we’re trading one in for his autobiography) My friends also bought me jelly babies, as I like to cut off their limbs and transplant them onto other coloured jelly babies but best, sad and geeky of all was my fellow femgeeks present, an ‘interox’ tshirt! omfg did I not expect that! In lectures, usually internet technology ones, neither of us listen, we don’t need to learn HTML so one day we invented ‘interox’ which is basically firefox but with internet explorers links and distribution network, basically putting forefox on everybody in the worlds machine, we also drew logos, and she (somehow!) got a tshirt printed with the logo I made on it!

but I did get what I asked for, a new lens!! (and a wireless remote for selftimer!) hehe, be prepared to be bored, but photos will follow to show you the coolness of it! Its a Canon 60mm f2.8 USM macro lens and omg is it sexy!

There it is, for those who dont know about cameras or those who are just curious, this lens is a true macro lens because it gives you a ratio of 1:1 when taking a photo, I wont go into details because it goes into multiplying numbers and shit and all you need to know is it takes photos of things close up! its has a fixed aperture which is SO nice because I don’t have to set it on the camera when I want a specific affect, the large aperture (yeah 2.8 is large!) gives that lovely blurry effect in the background of photos. anyway, onto the testshots!
