The files can imported wherever, but this tutorial concentrates on WP mainly.
First download .NET Framework run the exe file.
Then download and install ljArchive.
Run it and click file > new archive, select a download location enter your username and password (if your connecting to deadjournal or another clone of Livejournal tick the box that says I want to connect to the following server and type in http://www.deadjournal.com) To backup from communities select the tick box once you’ve entered your livejournal username and password and select the community,click next.
To export click file > export and select xml and one file (make it easier for importing into livejournal) slect your download location and click next.
To upload login to your wordpress and click import, select livejournal and upload the xml file, done :)
p.s. i see that you have a login form for your private ‘real me’ posts. how do i enable this on my wordpress?
hi there! theres no option to import XML files now. so do you know a way that i could import posts from LJ using an XML file to wordpress?
