I love Ikea, I grew up with it. Their so sensible and I love storage lol. My mum and I went on a trip on Monday to buy a few things to tidy up my room. My room isn’t exactly sensible. Before the trip my dressing table was two boxes one on top of the other. I did my make up in the bathroom.
There’s nothing in my room, other than a well hidden pine bedside table that I haven’t assembled myself or made from scratch.
The main point of the trip was to organise my wardrobe. I hate having things in sight so I put everything in my wardrobe. Before we spent far too much money I had boxes on top of each other in the cupboard. It wasn’t practical. Now however my wardrobe is uber organised!
The drawers are from the ikea Antonius range: the frame and the drawers.
Here’s a closeup – can you spot the monster ;)
The next thing I needed to do was sort out my dressing table of boxes. It took me three hours to make up the Aneboda chest of drawers. The coffee table at the end of my bed was my GCSE technology project. Designed and manufactured by yours truely.
Finally the bit that had already been finished months ago. My bed.
I haven’t quite finished the desk, because most of the stuff that lives on it is still at uni – my TV and stereo. The stereo there at the moment, the proper ghetto blaster is ooold! Here’s a photo anyway. Three computers lol :S oh, and the desk itself was my AS level Technology project. Welding and all!
I love interior designing. I did the front room too even if I can’t make it amazing. I’m hoping to be able to do the spare room soon. w00t.

OMG you are talented! I can’t believe you made that little table and the desk! thats amazing.
Its great that you’re not afraid of colour, I get bored of seeing people decorate their rooms with just bland magnolia walls.
Beautiful room!! IKEA is the best! My entire room uses IKEA furniture. It’s cheap, not too durable but that’s okay. These stuff aren’t meant to be used for too long anyway. :)
That’s a big Logitech box there in the wardrobe… Geek! Heh heh :-)
Very neat!
It looks ikea really does their job huh. :) Nice.
I love the colour of your walls, the purple is so pretty! :)
WOOP! Firstly this theme is hot. Secondly, you’ve made me want a desktop computer again! Seeing that desk with proper keyboard and mouse makes me want an imac so bad. Blatantly going to get one now :) Your room is very swish, I like it :)
Oh gosh, i reeeally like the way you’ve painted your walls. It’s so simple, but stylistic
and i have to admit! your carpentry is amazing as well. Your desk may very well pass for Ikea.
and whyyyy oh why is there a playboy poster in your closet.
Oh and just a question – how do you pronounce IKEA over there? My canadian friend told me they’d pronounce it as ‘eye-keeea’. My asian friends pronounce it as ‘eeeeeee-keeea’. Lol ;) just curious.
Your room is really drop-dead gorgeous! I noticed from the second last photo that you’ve got those little lights strung across the wall… I can imagine how nice will your room look like when you off the lights, turn the little ones on and watch them flickr in the dark  I’m so envious that you have total design control over your room! Since I share mine with my brother, we would get into heated arguments about how to decorate our room (he wanted those stupid Gundam posters up and I wanted something more minimalistic and clean). So in the end we settled for the default paintjob and nothing more than that.
Oooof I see your hanger sagging from the weight! Poor thing XP and my, your desk is so neat and tidy! Mine is full of crap – reader’s digest, semi-finished novels, pencil box, photo frames (that are rusting because I’m too lazy to dry the cloth that I use to clean them)… what a mess. At least you’re getting me motivated to do some major cleanup!
P.S. I grew up with IKEA just like you! My parents are actaully die-hard IKEA fans so when I was young they already started bringing me there in my baby trolley :) I love how IKEA made everything so family-oriented – they have hugeeee parking lots for big families with big SUVs and bulky baby strollers, an only-for-kids play room, those miniature trolleys for kids to push around and padded corners for furnitures. Wow, it’s really veyr thoughtful of them!
I like the things in Ikea but sometimes the furniture pieces don’t align, that’s a little annoying.
Your room’s cool. The coffee table and desk are very nice :). I wouldn’t mind have an L-shaped desk of my own.
Your room looks really cool. I love the colours.
From Cornwall our nearest Ikea is Bristol, which is three hours away. I have been looking online though, and their stuff is so cheap, so I am thinking about getting a new bed and things from them. What is the quality like?
