I’ve set myself up for scrutiny and signed up to Rev.iew.me. I’ve recently reworked this entire site, I’m now happy with it. Happy enough to put it up to be reviewed by a tough crowd. So go ahead do your worst!

I’m trying to be a good member and review other sites, so far I’ve written two and deleted three so really I’ve done five! I write a review but I don’t think I’ve quite worked out the lingo yet. I like bullet points but I should really write sentences. I seem to find myself repeating the same things.

• Bullet points need styling I’d rather have no bullets than the default black circles
• Line height is shorter than I am
• Font Size is indecipherable
• You have far to many colours in your text
• Your content doesn’t blend with your header at all - its like you stuck a random image on top of some text they don’t link at all
• Your content is all below the fold - you shouldn’t have to scroll to see it

Now if only I could copy and paste that onto most of the pages I’d be a great reviewer, but I don’t have the heart. If someones gonna put the effort into reviewing this site then I should do the same for theirs. It just might take me a few drafts to get there!!

I’m in two minds about this design. On one hand it has passed my 3hr and 24hr tests with flying colours. That is, if you leave it and go away for 3 hours and you still love it then your onto a winner. If you then start coding, leave it and come back 24hours later and actually continue to code it then it’s going to be a layout that lasts!

On the other hand - I hate those white and yellow tropical flowers! (Which by the way were made by Konamedia) But when I look at the layout as a whole, it does work quite well?

To follow the thread of Rhys’s latest post. One thing I have learnt with this new layout. persevere with the whole thing, posts, sidebar the lot!

Normally I just design the header and code the posts on a whim. This time I designed the sidebar and posts down to the very last detail. So not only was coding much quicker the whole site looks (I think) so much better :)

I’m working on making my blog less about me and more about you! I’m going to be going through some of my older/personal posts and deleting them and concentrating more on making them useful to you - my readers.

What sort of things would you like to see here? I’m going to be adding to my How to write your own wordpress theme tutorial and I may make some more vectors that could be useful - but we’ll see how time goes!
