One of the gifts manfriend gave me was a 1950’s copy of Mrs Beetons Household management! It still has its dust cover, which I’m told makes it quite rare. All I know is that its fascinating to read!

The book tells you the origins of the Sunday Roast and how to prepare high tea including what should be on the menu. Mrs Beeton talks about picnics and gives you a list of what to take for a picnic of 40 people! I’d love to get 40 people to come to a Mrs Beeton’s picnic!

I love the adverts in the covers too!
