I’ve returned to a land of rain and floods from a place of 35c and freak hail storms the size of icecubes!
The flight out was shorter than expected, but 7 and a half hours is still pretty long! When we landed and disembarked the plane, the first thing we saw was not a ‘welcome to canada’ sign or friendly smily faces, but 6 big (in fact giant) fully armed (automatic weapons and all) guards. Even the female guard was imposing! It’s pretty intimidating, especially if your 5″2!
Our hotel was the Delta Chelsea in Toronto. Its the busyest hotel I think I’ve ever stayed in and as such they have a bizarre restaurant. Its like a caffeteria but you order cooked meals too. It was all very confusing, it took us quite a while to realise we had to go back to get the pizza by which time it was stone cold. (and fucking massive I might add!)
A few observations from my first few hours in Canada, Its.not.cheap! We needed to make a trip to the pharmacy downt the road, where we bought 3 bottles of water, a small map and some ladythings. All this came to $32, thats
