I’m back from Florida! I got back the day before yesterday but I was too tired to do anything, I picked the cats up from the cattery in the morning then fell asleep as soon as I got home! With the cats all snuggled up with me of course!

Florida was awesome! I know none of you are interested in the “I did this” “I did that” post so here’s a nice summed up version of the first week for you - with pictures!

Travelling
The plane was delayed for an hour because bloody bush hogged the runway, then they closed it again to prepare for VIP’s landing in 2 days time I’d have been annoyed if I hadn’t been in first class!

The First Night
The first night we spent in a marriot hotel right on Miami Beach. It was such a lovely beach! I could quite happily live there if it weren’t so hot! (and shops were closer together!)

Me posing on miami beach!

We also saw south beach then drove to Marco island. The weather was horrible, It was like Singapore, when you get that really hot humid weather you get the thunderstorms and torrential rain that comes with it! So we were driving through torrential rain, unable to see, in a car that in traditional American standards could not turn a corner to save its life!

We arrived at the house, you’ve already seen the photos of the ‘interesting’ decor from the last post, but here’s a photo of the front of the house:

Over the course of the week we did the following: (summary cos you cba to read it and I cba to write it!!)

Monday:
Went to Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. Walked around a wooden boardwalk for 3 hours. V hot and sweaty. Full of bugs.

Tuesday:
Went to ‘Old Naples’ was rubbish, put there for american tourists, uber expencive and of no interest to anyone lol! Got caught in the rain and ended up in some strange cafe, good bagels though!

Wednesday:
Spent the Day by the pool, fun fun! Saw a dolphin while we were eating brekfast though!

Thursday:
Drove to Sanibel and Captiva, drove through the ding darling sanctuary. Saw some birds lol

Driving to Sanibel over the bridge

Friday:
I spent the morning sunbathing, about 10 minutes after I’d goten up to make lunch I went back round the side of the house (where the sunbeds are) and there was a snake! Brits don’t see snakes - ever so were were like ahhh wtf do we do!

We looked through the yellow pages to see wtf we could do - in the end we called the pest control people who had fumigated the week before, they were like “is it black”, “yes”, we said. “its harmless, shoo it out with a broom” *meep*

So shoo it we did! All the way into the pool!

Well done father!

We pushed it around the side of the pool and out the door. Then he just sat there, plotting revenge. I reconed it’d come round the front of the house and wait for us when we went out for dinner, but he wasn’t there!

Bradenton soon - when I’m not busy getting ready for a date :D
