I had my second exibition yesterday :D It was much better than the previous one, mainly because there was free wine! They even had a small orchestra playing! However I’m noticing a trend in these exibitions, again, mine was framed as landscape rather than portrait! grrr!
It was weird actually leaving the flat because I’ve not been outside for ages! Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and most of Wednesday will be spent in bed until I get dressed up as a school girl for school disco night! Thank god for socialising on the internet! Least I can always have a good time on IM! Thats rather sad. Worse thing is when I go out on Wednesday or to my lecture on thursday I’ll have been online so much it’ll be all I can do to stop myself saying ‘lol’ in conversation!
I read somewhere the other day that a site without a message board is a very quiet site indeed, so as I’ve had it installed for ages, I’m going to finish themeing my message board :) Please join!
I’ve decided I’m getting old before my time. I might be 19 but I certainly don’t act like it! Oh sure I get drunk every now and then but so do old people. Firstly the highlight of my weekends is on UKTV Bright Ideas at 12 oclock in the shape of James Martin. But its not just James Martin, I love Michael Robinson too but I can’t have him because hes on UKTV food and you can’t get that on freeview, grr. I love all cookery programs, I will watch UKTV food for hours at a time. This is all very weird considering I’m a really fussy eater, but James Martins food is the best!
The other reason I’m getting old is that my hips have gone! I can no longer sit cross legged or on the edge of my bed for the agony it’ll cause. I have knee problems already and this is just an extension of it. (The muscles in my legs are too tight) I’m going to see my physio soon though so hopefully she can actually tell me whats causing it, it only started when I got to uni. I think its flared up at the moment because I’ve been doing a lot of walking.
As we all know dear Guy’s buggering off to Australia this evening for god knows how long. He claims its to go travelling and gain experience blah blah blah, bollocks - we all know why hes going!
Yes thats right, Australia = sun, sea, sand and nearly naked women! (and Guy you’re lucky I didn’t do anything with this photo or any others for that matter ;) !) Try not to get arrested for indecent acts ey!?
This is an old old old old old post - Alex King’s Twitter Tools does this entire post far more effectively than this little post does!
I’ll start this off with a bit of an explanation of what RSS is. It stands for Really Simple Syndication and its the best thing since sliced bread. If your not using it your actually driving away readers. Put it this way. How many sites do you visit on a daily basis? You want to read all of your friends entries, but your not going to go to each and every page all the time are you!? Not if you’ve got as many feeds as I do! With RSS you go to one page, bloglines or if you already have a gmail account (and who doesn’t!) you can go to google.com/reader and start adding feeds. To get you started my feed URL is http://feeds.feedburner.com/Eruanna (I use feed burner so I can manage my statistics.) The main advantage is that if you read those tween sites that use an awfully small font then you can actually read the posts in the feed reader.
If your using a hosted blog service like blogger, wordpress.com etc then you already have an RSS feed. There should be a link to it on your site, if your using wordpress then your feed is yoururl.com/feed
So firstly, if you’re not using twitter then your missing out on something theoretically pointless but really really addictive. So if you’ll look at my sidebar <– which I have my twitter feeding into.
Heres how I imported my twitter into my sidebar. (Alex Kings just released a flickr plugin
Download and install the FeedList Plugin. I tried to write my own but I gave up! Then activate it and in your sidebar.php page write the following:
<ul class="twitterFeed">
<?php feedList(array("rss_feed_url"=>"RSSURLHERE", "num_items"=>5, "show_description"=>false,"before"=>"<li>", "after"=>"</li>", "random"=>false,"sort"=>"none","suppress_link"=>true,"show_date"=>true));?>
</ul>
Add your RSS url into the specified space. and tada you’ve imported your twitter feed to your wordpress blog. There are many variables you can change but these are the ones I used.
