An Apology and RSS

I’ve been a bit of a bitch lately, so for that I apologise to everyone. I haven’t actually slept for several days so I’ve been a bit irritable! I’m so glad to be going back to uni tomorrow, its bad because I have to give in my assignment on Wednesday but good because I get away from home. I don’t know about you but I hate being reminded of things I did when I was younger, even things that aren’t that bad always come back to haunt me. It might be something I said or did and then you see people or are reminded by people of that particular thing and it just wont go away. I even do it for other people, if someone I know or someone I don’t know does something I’d consider embarrassing or rude, I seem to take that upon myself too. They always seems to come back at night too, which is really annoying!

meh, enough of my depressing nature, remember Geek Technique that I posted about in my last entry. We bounced a few emails back and forth and let me say hes got some cool ideas coming up, so you should definitly add him to your feed reader.

Speaking of feed readers I really do want to say how useful they are, if they don’t know what one is it basically collects all the posts on a blog or site of your choice and displays them on one page - showing you when the site is updated. Let us for example take the feed for this site: http://feeds.feedburner.com/Eruanna (note I use feedburner.com to syndicate my wordpress feed my actual feed url is /feed but you’ll get directed to feedburner - it give me stats on my feed) So you have your feed URL now you need to find your reader. There are loads around personally I use google reader because it integrates with calendar and my email. Theres also bloglines for which Jon Hicks has written a rather cool Plugin to prettify it and of course theres Yahoo! reader I have an account but I cant for the life of me work out how to get to the feed reader, best stick to google or bloglines!

Then you can go ahead and add your lovely feed I showed you above :) Incidently, I’ve just finished redoing apricot13.org my portfolio and it also features a photoblog, so feel free to add the feed of that too :) http://apricot13.org/photoblog/?feed=rss2.

My Master Plan

Edit new layout, its very simple but still its better than the old one!

Its funny how when you actually have work you need to do, you suddenly become inspired to do anything but that work. So far this afternoon I’ve started burning CD’s and DVD’s i’ve meant to do for ages, Last night I did the photoshoot I’ve wanted to do since I got my new lens and now I’ve updated the about page. I also added a lovely contact form the otherday. Dont worry, you dont need to put in your phone number! :S.

In my desperate bid for today not to come, I stayed up till 3 in the morning last night, but boy did I find some cool things! Firstly I found what will soon become my favorite blog, firstly the guy has a pink layout, his sites all about modding macs AND his iBook is green! Which, ever since I saw the film ‘hackers’ *laughs at the groans from the hacker community who despair of that film* I’ve always wanted a green laptop! And now, with a lot of variations on this tutorial and by alot I mean, I’m using a macbook pro 15″ not iBook 12″ and I wont be touching my little laptop I’ll be taking the cowards way out and buying this which with a lot of research will eventually be painted, then i need to work out some way of making it so the paint doesn’t melt and go all over my laptop when it overheats - you know what I mean mbp users! i’m thinking I’ll probably have half green half silver…..meh.

I suppose I should get back to john bergers ways of seeing, but its just so damn crap. Even my mum didn’t understand it! I might do the website first and then do the content!
